The 5th Meeting of CIIAR Argentina Mayors brought together authorities from 14 municipalities, RIL representatives, CAF, and entrepreneurs from the GovTech ecosystem to exchange progress, challenges, and solutions related to the use of artificial intelligence in local public management.

The opening was led by Christian Asinelli, Vice President of CAF; Susana Edjang, CAF representative in Argentina; and Delfina Irazusta, Director of RIL Global. During their remarks, they highlighted the need to humanize artificial intelligence and promote technological adoption that does not lose sight of environmental care. The challenge, they agreed, is to build a balance between technology, humanity, and environment.

Next, a roundtable discussion took place in which municipal authorities shared experiences on the incorporation of AI in public management. Participating were mayors Rosanna Chahla (San Miguel de Tucumán), Rodrigo Aybar (Tres de Febrero), Ariel Sujarchuk (Escobar), Federico Achával (Pilar), Francisco Azcué (Concordia), Fernando Moreira (General San Martín), and Leonardo Viotti (Rafaela); Cabinet Chiefs Rogelio Biazzi (Rosario), Matías Meric (Luján de Cuyo), and Joaquín Estrada (San Miguel); Córdoba's Secretary of Digital Transformation, Ignacio Gei; Neuquén's Undersecretary of Technologies, Natalia Silvestri; General Roca's Director of Modernization, Ezequiel Torres; and San Vicente's (Misiones) Secretary of Technological Innovation, Tuzinkievich. The event was also accompanied by Martín Olmos and Sebastián Putzoli from CAF, along with Luciano Crisafulli, Hernán Contreras, and Bautista Pino from RIL Argentina, promoting coordinated work between local governments and the GovTech ecosystem.

The interventions reflected concrete advances in applying AI to improve citizen services, expand access to health, and strengthen urban security. The roundtable enabled the sharing of lessons, needs, and opportunities to accelerate solutions with an impact on the daily life of communities.

Ten finalist solutions for local challenges

The meeting also included the Demo Day of DesafIA Ciudades, an initiative promoted by CAF and executed by RIL Argentina. The ten finalist startups were selected from 84 applications from companies with artificial intelligence solutions aimed at solving public challenges for municipalities.

The proposals presented were:

• Alejandro Malbrán, from Knidian, presented an AI copilot to support clinical decisions, optimize emergency triage, and improve referrals in health services.
• Nicolás Doallo, from Farox, presented a governance infrastructure for municipalities to use AI models safely, auditably, and with protection of sensitive data.
• Santiago Aranguren, from GDI Latam, presented a platform to digitalize files and regulations, incorporate intelligent search, and streamline municipal administrative management.
• Florencia Leguizamón, from Cívica Digital, presented an AI agent via chat and voice that receives, prioritizes, and routes citizen complaints while assisting municipal teams.
• Franco Landoni, from WiseCX, presented an omnichannel platform with AI to optimize citizen service, automate procedures, and analyze citizen demands in real time.
• Matías Zardain, from TDT Mediatech, presented a computer vision solution to survey and audit public space assets and incidents through tours and intelligent image processing.
• Iván Gauna, from Ethix, presented a municipal public procurement management platform with AI agents to assist in document drafting, offer analysis, and file traceability.
• Nicolás Cofiño, from Infinity Neural, presented a solution that leverages existing camera infrastructure to generate real-time information on urban security, mobility, and risk prevention.
• Maximiliano Arias, from Fidtech, presented Photofied Municipios, a tool that allows citizens to report incidents through images and automatically routes each claim to the corresponding department.
• Federico Fandiño, from Let's Make It, presented Governa Lite, a platform with AI agents to organize dispersed information and improve tracking of municipal works, services, and infrastructure.

During the coming week, the winning startups will be announced, and they will receive CAF funding through DesafIA Ciudades, executed by RIL Argentina, to implement pilots in the founding municipalities of CIIAR Argentina.

In this way, the Coalition of Cities for Artificial Intelligence (CIIAR) in Argentina seeks to continue strengthening public-private coordination as a key tool to accelerate innovation and generate concrete impact on local management and the quality of life of citizens.
